Case analysis tools can outline facts, issues, and a holding. That is useful as a first read. It is not the same as confirming that the opinion you are about to cite actually supports the sentence in your brief.

Holding support is one of OWL’s five checks. Existence and a well-formed reporter cite can both pass while holding support still needs a person — for example when you paste only the citation, or when the surrounding proposition is broader than the recorded holding. Run that check on /verify.

Carpenter v. United States is the public working example: historical cell-site location information and the warrant requirement. Using Carpenter for a different duration, a different technology, or a different court is exactly where a human review flag belongs.

OWL does not replace case-analysis judgment. It shows the trail so the reviewer can see what was checked and against what source.
